THE FLIES OF THE TREES

The Myth of the Adriades

The Adriades were also called "Amadriades", or "Druades" or "Druids" and were often confused with the Naiads and other Nymphs, when in fact they were nothing more than the anthropomorphic idea of the rustling of tree leaves and the sounds of water especially in mountains, streams, caves, springs and gorges that interrupt the peace and quiet of nature.

When you find yourself in the forest, listen to the chirping of the water in the stream, caress the leaves of the trees and listen to the world of nature, perhaps then you will be able to discern the forgotten forms of the Adriads welcoming you, and inviting you into their forgotten realm.
