ADRYADES MEANS IN ANCIENT GREEK: OF THE TREES,WOODS

Adryades were the nymphs of the trees,groves,woodlands and mountain forests.

They were the spirits of the oaks and pines,apple and laurel.They were believed to die together with the trees which had been their adobe and which they had come into existence.

They were called Dryades,Hamadryades or Adryades,from drys which signifies not only an oak but any wild-growing lofty tree.

They were several types of Adryades associated with particular trees.
